I realize we have members in this community from all over the world. Love that! For our international visitors, let me share that this weekend is a big holiday here in the US. 4th of July marks America's 233rd birthday. I'd love to know how Americans are celebrating and what does freedom mean to you, no matter where you live in the world.
I am celebrating my freedom first and foremost by giving thanks for those who made tremendous sacrifices to allow me to experience freedom. I am tweeting about Bob Woodruff's foundation www.tweettoremind.org to help raise monies to give our returning troops a true heroes welcome and helping to ensure they have everything they need to find their own path to healing and freedom.
I am celebrating my freedom by spending time with my beautiful daughter and husband and enjoying our beautiful city of Boston. We will go to the top of Larz Anderson Park not far from where we live to watch the fireworks and listen to the Boston Pops along with others as we spread out blankets, turn on our portable TV's and wave the flag which symbolizes we are so blessed.
I celebrate my freedom every day with prayers of gratitude for my physical freedom, freedom of spirit, freedom of unlimited thinking and send prayers to all those who do not yet know the joy of this freedom asking that God bless the world with peace and freedom.
It's my birthday - and I'm celebrating by going to the July 4th parade in my town in the earlier part of the day, then having all of my family over for a huge cook out, followed by (of course) a trip uptown to watch fireworks. After which I will flop into a chair and try not to think about being a year older :)
Thanks Mary! I'm thinking during these stressful days one might find peace and satisfaction in their own life by doing something small but helpful for someone else and everyone wins.

I love my pet finches, Darwin and Daryn. I rescued and raised them when they were babies. They were nearly dead when I found them. The only reason I knew they were alive was because I saw their feet twitch ever so slightly. These two birds have...
