How to post in your Personal Blog

There are several ways to access your personal blog.

1. You can use the "Quick Add" drop down box at the top right hand corner of your main page (at the bottom of the welcome box.) Simply choose "blog Post" and it will pop open a box where you can enter your post. You can also click "more options" at the bottom of the pop up box - this will give you the rich text options to format your text, add a link, and add pictures, with a click of a button.

2. You can also click the "Blogs" tab at the top of the screen just below the network banner. Then click "+Add A Blog Post." This will take you to the same place as "more options" took you from above.

3. Scroll down the main page, to below where the latest blog posts are displayed. There you'll find a link that says "Add A Blog Post." This is probably the fastest and simplest way to access your personal Blog.

I = Italicized text
U = Underlined text

To use these options, highlight the text to which you'd like to apply the formatting and choose the appropriate button.

To the left you'll see how to add a link. Type in the text that you'd like to have hyperlinked. Highlight it by holding down the right mouse button and then click the button that looks like a chain link. When the box pops up, type in or paste the URL of the page to which you want your link to go. It's very important that you type the text and highlight it first. If you skip this step, you'll see no link in your post after you hit "publish post"

This picture demonstrates your extra options. These allow you to decide if you'd like to post at a time/date later (or earlier) than the present. You can also decide whether you'd like your post to be public (visible to everyone) or to just the people who are on your friend's list. Or, you can make your post completely private so that only you can see what you've written. This is also where you choose to enable comment moderation. If you choose to moderate comments, no comments will appear on your post unless you approve them. You also have the option of not allowing comments at all.

To access these options, just click "change."
