Today's story about great-grandma Vada Rambo going skydiving for her 90th birthday has me thinking. If this woman can literally take a leap, what kind of leap am I ready to take? How about you? Have you taken a leap recently? Are you thinking about taking one? Please share and offer any encouragement to others who just might be ready to jump.
I took a leap of faith when I left my full time work as an award winning social worker to heal my life after being diagnosed with post polio syndrome in December 2006, and had no idea the adventures that would unfold before me. So take a deep breath, garnish as much support and love to surround you as you can and enjoy the journey. I just finished taking a HUGE leap as I committed to training for the Boston Marathon and raising money for Spaulding Rehab Hospital. My next leaps are going forward to share my story both as a public speaker and with the release of a documentary about my journey as well as releasing my 2nd book of inspirational poetry. It's exhilarating and frightening to consider stepping outside of the comfort zone and taking leaps but feels fantastic when you land on both feet knowing the thrill of overcoming the fear to get there.

I'm leaping into my 23rd marathon a week from Saturday, the ING Greater Hartford Marathon, I'm a little nervous about this one, I don't feel like I have had the time to train as much as I would have liked, so I am relying on a little race day "magic", and the fact that I know what it will take to get me to stumble across the finish line........my inspiration this time around is the amazing new woman in my life, she is going to wait for me at Mile 22, and run the last few miles with me, definitely something for me to look forward to on that long trek through Hartford, East Hartford, South Windsor......and back!
