In L.A., the hottest personal trainers are like the coolest bars.
Discreet. Word-of-mouth. Old-school meets new-school. And very good-looking.
Dion Jackson’s retro-modern workouts have trimmed everyone from Rob Lowe to J.Lo. His appeal is fabulously anti-fabulous. No bun-busting gizmos, no stupid shortcuts, no wellness mumbo jumbo. Just cardio, crunches, dumbbells, and boxing gloves. (With a side of heavy sweating.) Which is to say that Jackson’s cocoony gym may be located near Crunch, but psychologically it’s worlds away.
He charges celebs about $250 an hour, but civilians (musicians, journalists, you) pay according to their means. Everyone gets A-list treatment and a lovely mini massage.
Of course, this being Hollywood, the secret won’t last.
But you can still go around bragging that you knew him back in the day.

I know a lot of folks would love to hear some inspiring getting in shape stories and photos.
I'm a long time runner--do about 6 miles 4x a week--my drug of choice. And I hit the gym with my trainer, Kathy Murray, here in Atlanta 2x a week.

Michelle Obama plants first seedlings in White House garden
Mrs Obama was joined by a group of 25 children who tend to a similar garden at their school for the inaugural plantings.
Among the crops brought into the 1,100-square-foot L-shaped plot on the South Lawn was spinach, assorted types of lettuce, herbs - including dill, oregano and rosemary - onions, shallots, cucumbers, peppers and peas.
