I am originally from Canada and have resided in South Bend, Indiana (think Notre Dame football!) for just over three years. I live here because I married an American. We actually met online in a non-romance related Yahoo group. I worked as a substitute teacher for two years in the South Bend school district. I am currently trying to find a career-viable job where I will be able to utilize skills in the areas of writing and speaking. I majored in biology and minored in english at the University of Northern British Columbia. On the side, I teach piano lessons, tutor, and play background piano music for formal events. My husband and I are major animal lovers and have had many very cool wildlife experiences.

BTW, I totally agree on the Health care issue. It doesn't take much to wipe folks out with a major illness. I do volunteer work for a the Ohio Pug Rescue. I'm not home enough to foster one but I do transport and screening and lately, removal of Pugs from people who have to give them up for financial reasons. The last one they were going bankrupt due to the husband getting cancer.
I forgot, how are you adjusting to life outside of the Dominion? Our messed up electoral system probably made you gasp at the waste of resources we pour into it.
I used to date a woman from Toronto and I couldn't get her to move to the USA unless I moved to NYC and couldn't afford a move to NYC. If I moved to Canada I could not work for 2 years. So Kudos to your Husband.
