Please join me in contacting CNN, and spreading the word to make your voice heard in this crusade to get Larry King and his cable show to give a shout out, recognize, and have actress advocates: Julie Newmar, Susan Lucci, Angela Lansbury, and Dolores Hart be guests on behalf of neuropathy and Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease [the hereditary version of peripheral neuropathy] for NATIONAL NEUROPATHY WEEK MAY 11-16.
Over 20 million neuropathy sufferers need your support.
New statistics published by the AMERICAN ACADEMY OF NEUROLOGY 2009:
1 in 50 have neuropathy symptoms;
1 in 12 are over the age of 55;
1 in 3 have diabetes;
1 in 3 have HIV.
My family's been devastated by both the acquired and inherited versions of peripheral neuropathy due to scoliosis, and spine surgeries and CMT. My mom died bedridden and in great pain. Her brother still suffers with burning, stabbing pains in his feet and ankles and struggles with his mobility.
You shouldn't have to witness what I have. Don't wait for the statistics to include you as the next one. Neuropathy is an equal opportunity disease. No one is immune.
Thanks for your time, cooperation and understanding in this endeavor! It's greatly appreciated.
