Today is June 18th -- Recess at Work Day! I have my entire eight-hour day planned out. I'm going to take out my pencil and paper and write blogs about famiily, friends, being (or not being) PC (wasn't the definition 'personal computer' at one time). The company I work for is building a new three-story building, so I might even go out into the parking lot and play in the broken asphalt the graders have piled into a mound and get down and dirteeeeeeeeeee! I might even make paper bombs and throw them at my boss and co-workers. There's a lake behind our building so I might chase the wild ducks and geese, but I'll have to watch out for reptilian ground cover -- I hate snakes! We have a traffic signal light in the back of the parking lot for testing purposes -- I can hide the bulbs!
Then there's the no-no's -- polish my nails at my desk, comb my hair, eat my lunch, talk on the phone, make paper airplanes or spit balls. I could hide my personnel file, so my 'recess' won't be made a permanent part of my record. Oh, I just remembered -- there's that little button on the computer -- DELETE! No meetings today! I could hide all the keys to the company vehicles or hide the fuel key. Unplug the phones--peace and quiet! Turn up the volume on the CD player and blast out Ted Nugent and 'Strangle Hold' -- not to offend the Motor City Madman, but that's a great song to listen to while cleaning house.
It's lunchtime! What to do now? Definitely hide the salt -- not good for blood pressure or water retention. Water down the catsup so it will last longer. Don't fill up the ice trays.Eat onions and blow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Print 'wash me' on some of the cars.
Lunch hour is over -- gosh, I'm tired from all this recess. Maybe I should just go back to work!
Everyone -- Have a happy 'Recess at Work Day.'
