Hey DAK -- luv the Doggie Devotion blog. So true -- I know more doggie names than owner names. Now I'm making a point of not just knowing Niles and Colby but also their owner -- Sunny.

I'm also doing Thanksgiving out here -- but doing it this Sunday (as Thursday is a school night!) for 12. I won't even tell you how much a turkey is out here. More than any corn fed, massaged piece of kobe!

Missing you -- and so glad that you have a girlie reunion. Hope to see some photos....

Thank you for the invitation. A few of my posts might fit your criteria. One is my 'Cop Doc' story. Would you like to give it a read before I post it here? The link is http://arizonanotebook.com/?s=caruso.

Hi Daryn,

Thanks so much for the welcome. I know, who knew when we lived down the street from each other when we were kids, that one day we'd be exchanging posts on a Social Network from across the Country. (Considering there was no such thing as a personal computer!)

So glad we turned out to be like minded... there must have been something in the water! :)

Hi Daryn,

Thanks for the welcome. I was really impressed with what you did with this site. And, unfortunately I am a Redskins fan.

Thanks for the quick reply. Right now in Farmington we have 10% humidity and a light breeze. It's 96 degrees outside and it's pretty bearable. We're just waiting on a dry lighting strike or a call out of state. I've started a new business building wildland engines and we should be doing pretty good by the end of this year. I'll keep you posted. Thanks for a super-duper website, and I'll chat later...wildlandfirefighter

Erin is right about the red. You look stunning in it. It really is your colour. I've noticed that those with dark hair and eyes often look good in red.

Thanks, Daryn~

I'm very happy to be alive after the "interesting" five years I've had...I know you are all too familiar with your own experience with your Mom - it's amazing what the human body - and soul! - can endure. We are stronger than we think we are, and it is a privilege to help show other women where their own strength lies.

I am inspired by what you are doing and what you say..."not happy, but hopeful."

I'd love to talk with you about the Get In Touch Foundation, the non-profit I started that teaches girls in grades 5-12 the importance of, and how to do a breast self exam. We launch the program in CT in May, New England in 2010 and nationally in 2011. The photo I attached is of the video shoot we held on Saturday for the "Get In Touch Girls' Program & Daisy Wheel" - these girls are the reason "why we are."

Be well, Daryn.

Hope Lives!

Hi Daryn,
I think I have it all compiled. I bought a new camera that took awhile to figure out. Now that I have it figured out, I'm ready and rolling. You should have it by Monday if not sooner. Thanks again for your patience. I'm SO excited to see the end results and to share it with so many others. You are the best. Thanks again.
With a smile,
Lisa

Dear Daryn,

I remember how you've mentioned the concept of "lying up" about one's age. I like to do this myself. So, today I'm wishing you a very happy and special 66th birthday! You look terrific...like mid-30s terrific! :) Enjoy every moment of the day, eat lots of great food, and don't forget to make a birthday wish. They actually can come true, as was evidenced by the wish I made on my birthday back in October. I hope you'll get to spend time relaxing and having fun with friends. All the best in your new year.

Sincerely,

Sophia Andrews (who just turned 47 in October)...gotta love choosing an age that is off by a multiple of ten...it's easier to do the math! :)

Hi Daryn,

I did my six mile run this morning, and it was only six degrees when I left the house. I never thought I'd be able to go running when it was so cold. But, I surprised myself. Just like you, I'm cold all the time and have a preference for hot things. I must say that the run was beautiful, though, and think you would have enjoyed it (after warming up from the physical activity). The sun was out shining brightly, which made it much more tolerable. It reflected off the blanket of fresh, pure, white snow giving the appearance of the ground being covered in diamond dust. I'm always longing for warmer climates, but the unique beauty that is found in a crisp, cold, yet sunny winter run is something to behold.

Erin, 2009 made me grow up. I had to seek me last year and then correct some of the things. But I know that I took a step forward even though life tried to keep me back.

I am not MAD at 2009! Every year ends in a mixture of emotions for those reflecting upon it. 2009 seems to be one of those years. I have heard people emphatically say “goodbye to 2009”. The year has brought to some great joy and to other great pain…
