I do volunteer work for a the Ohio Pug Rescue. I'm not home enough to foster one but I do transport and screening and lately, removal of Pugs from people who have to give them up for financial reasons. The last one they were going bankrupt due to the husband getting cancer.

I used to date a woman from Toronto and I couldn't get her to move to the USA unless I moved to NYC and couldn't afford a move to NYC. If I moved to Canada I could not work for 2 years. So Kudos to your Husband.
